Terms of Service

Effective Date: January 15, 2026

1. Purpose of the Platform

SKN Service Providers (“the Platform”) connects customers in St. Kitts & Nevis with independent service providers (“Pros”). The Platform facilitates communication and service requests but does not directly provide services.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use this Platform.

3. User Accounts

Users may be required to create an account. You agree to provide accurate information, protect your credentials, and notify us of unauthorized access.

4. Independent Service Providers

Pros are independent third parties. SKN Service Providers does not employ providers and does not guarantee service quality, legality, or outcomes. Service engagements are agreements between the customer and the provider.

5. Acceptable Use

  • No fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity.
  • No harassment, threats, or exploitation.
  • No attempts to bypass platform security controls.

6. Payments and Disputes

Payment arrangements are agreed between customer and provider unless otherwise stated. Disputes may be reported to Admin for review, but outcomes are not guaranteed.

7. Refund & Cancellation Policy

SKN Service Providers is a marketplace that connects customers with independent service providers. Providers are not employees of SKN Service Providers. This section explains how cancellations and refunds work for payments made through the platform.

7.1 Cancellations Before Payment

If you cancel a job request before paying an invoice, there is no charge and no refund is needed. Repeated misuse (spam requests) may result in account restrictions.

7.2 Cancellations After Payment (Paid/Confirmed Jobs)

Once a job is paid/confirmed, cancellations depend on whether work has started.

  • If the provider has NOT started work: you may be eligible for a refund of the provider service amount, subject to any documented scheduling/administrative costs and payment processor fees (if non-refundable).
  • Platform/Service Fee: the platform fee is generally non-refundable because it covers marketplace operations, payment handling, and support—unless required by law or a specific exception applies.
  • If the provider HAS started work: refunds are typically partial and based on work completed, materials already purchased/used, time spent, travel costs, and other documented expenses.
  • If the job is completed: no refunds are issued for completed jobs unless there is a verified issue under the dispute process.

7.3 Deposits, Call-Out Fees, and Materials

Some jobs may include call-out/assessment fees, deposits, and material costs. These may be non-refundable once a provider has traveled, an assessment has been performed, or materials have been purchased, ordered, cut, or customized for the job. Providers may be required to provide receipts or proof of purchase during a dispute.

7.4 Subscription Plans (Providers / Businesses)

If you offer provider subscriptions (e.g., monthly/yearly memberships), subscription fees are generally non-refundable once the subscription period begins. You may cancel anytime to stop future renewals. If a trial or grace period applies, it will be stated on the subscription page.

7.5 Disputes, Quality Issues & Resolution Process

If you believe a service was not delivered as agreed, you must contact support within 7 days of the job date (or invoice payment date if no job date exists). We may request supporting evidence (photos, messages, receipts, etc.). Possible outcomes include partial refund, full refund (rare), rework agreement with the provider, or denial if evidence does not support the claim.

7.6 Chargebacks and Fraud

If you file a chargeback without first attempting resolution through our dispute process, your account may be restricted. We investigate fraudulent payments, false claims, and abusive behavior. Proven fraud may result in permanent removal and reporting to relevant authorities.

7.7 Refund Method and Timing

Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method where possible. Processing time depends on your bank/payment provider and the payment processor. Typical processing is 5–10 business days (may vary).

7.8 Non-Refundable Situations (Examples)

  • Change of mind after work begins.
  • Delays caused by customer unavailability or access issues.
  • Jobs canceled after materials are purchased for the job.
  • Completed services with no verified fault.
  • Violations of platform terms or abusive behavior.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Platform is not liable for losses arising from service engagements, third-party actions, or interruptions.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable within St. Kitts & Nevis.
